DEEP CEO participates in the Tech & Startups program of the AgroMais channel and talks about ESG for agribusiness

DEEP CEO and co-founder Arthur Covatti was invited by the AgroMais channel to talk about DEEP, ESG and their connection with agribusiness. Speaking of links with agribusiness, Arthur began by recalling that his parents are rural (soybean) producers and highlighted DEEP's mission to expand the reach of cutting-edge technology for measuring ESG impacts in Brazil:

“Although Brazil has a relatively small share in the world economy (1.6%), it currently represents about 30% of the world potential of what we call Nature-based Solutions, which is precisely carbon sequestration through solutions based on nature, on farms, on forests… Brazil is one of the few places in the world where I would say that there is an effective potential for carbon sequestration and for advancing the climate agenda”.

About the DEEP platform, which allows for automatic (without the need for manual data entry) and real-time monitoring of CO2 emissions, water footprint and social impacts, among others, Arthur spoke of the opportunities for agribusiness:

“Today, the issue of impact is quite relevant for Agro, especially for those who want to export to Europe, which is already studying the implementation of mechanisms to tax large polluters (carbon adjustment mechanism)”.

Finally, Arthur pointed out that DEEP solutions are already being used by companies that are mature in the carbon agenda, such as Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio, of the Votorantim Group, and multinationals, both foreign companies operating in Brazil and Brazilian companies operating abroad. of the country, and that the ESG journey tends to grow a lot in the coming years: “Small and medium-sized entrepreneurs need to be concerned with the issue, on behalf of the client, which will increasingly require the measurement of impact; from companies, which are already demanding carbon inventory from their supply chain; and import markets, such as the North American and European, which are advancing in the regulatory field”.
